When we started planning our build we chose to work with Kevin and the team at Optum because they offered us the most innovative and responsible solutions.

The combination of solar, a smart Stiebel Eltron air source heat pump and a huge insulated hot water tank to efficiently store energy and power our under floor heating has been a revelation. Our lifestyle suits the use of solar and the efficiency of the hot water storage system combined with the solar has created savings that will see the extra cost of the system pay for itself in under 10 years.

We couldn’t be happier with the advice, installation and service we’ve received from Optum with this system.

We found Optum Plumbing to be a very professional and easy company to work with, starting from initial consultation and design, right through to installation. The whole job, including ground works for storm water and sewerage, general plumbing and an integrated solar/wet back/radiator central heating system, was completed on time and to quote. Our architect had recommended electrical underfloor heating and whilst the initial capital cost was much less, Kevin convinced us to pay a higher initial cost and pay substantially less as running costs through the year. It took a little while to settle down, but to be fair that was due to incompetence from our electrician and when we got an electrician as competent as our plumber all was fixed and we are good now.

Let's start with your receptionist. The phone was answered quickly and cheerfully. That is so pleasant these days.

We rang about a small but important job on Monday 4 March. It was fixed by the end of the day, by Julien Lopez.

He was very proficient, and took the initiative to check other fittings that may have caused future problems. Julien's  personal demeanor towards us was excellent.

We also had Sam fix our solar panel in early February. Same thing. Sam's work was very thorough. He saw things that the initial installer had not fitted. He has a relaxed personality and took away our anxiety.

You are "crazy good" because Wanaka has experienced a building "boom" during the ten years that we have lived here.This has made it difficult to find people to do repairs, yet you seem to manage that. You told us when it would happen and stuck to that arrangement. The pricing was reasonable too. We have been left with such a good feeling of confidence in your company.

Kevin Henderson (Optum Ltd) did all the plumbing work for our house in Bannockburn, built in 2007. Kevin and his staff brought a high level of expertise to what was a complicated job, which included solar and gas installation, under floor heating, storm water reticulation, and plumbing of kitchen, laundry and bathrooms.

We have an Optum designed heating system installed in our new home which was completed in November 2021.  We wished to include a Solar PV heating system in our new house and Optum Plumbing was recommended to us as a local specialist.
