Kevin Henderson (Optum Ltd) did all the plumbing work for our house in Bannockburn, built in 2007. Kevin and his staff brought a high level of expertise to what was a complicated job, which included solar and gas installation, under floor heating, storm water reticulation, and plumbing of kitchen, laundry and bathrooms.

They were a pleasure to have on the job and Kevin ensured that all work was done in a timely manner. The back up and maintenance provided by Optum since the house build has been excellent. The whole job, including ground works for storm water and sewerage, general plumbing and an integrated solar/wet back/radiator central heating system, was completed on time and to quote. Let's start with your receptionist. The phone was answered quickly and cheerfully. That is so pleasant these days.

We rang about a small but important job on Monday 4 March. It was fixed by the end of the day, by Julien Lopez.

He was very proficient, and took the initiative to check other fittings that may have caused future problems. Julien's  personal demeanor towards us was excellent.

We also had Sam fix our solar panel in early February. Same thing. Sam's work was very thorough. He saw things that the initial installer had not fitted. He has a relaxed personality and took away our anxiety.

You are "crazy good" because Wanaka has experienced a building "boom" during the ten years that we have lived here.This has made it difficult to find people to do repairs, yet you seem to manage that. You told us when it would happen and stuck to that arrangement. The pricing was reasonable too. We have been left with such a good feeling of confidence in your company.

Optum Plumbing & Energy Solutions designed and installed an efficient and modern underfloor heating, solar water heating, a Woodpecker pellet boiler and associated controls to our new house build near Cromwell. The design and consultation process was detailed and easily understood and Kevin from Optum expertly outlined the benefits and downfalls of various systems. The entire system is very easy to operate and provides considerable savings on our home and hot water heating. Any initial issues were quickly and expertly resolved and back-up support is always promptly dealt with if required. When looking for options to upgrade our heating system I approached 3 different companies to put forward options and pricing, and from the moment I met Keven Henderson he stood out as somebody who knew heating systems and what would be the best option for us.

An itemised quote was received in a timely manner and Optum Plumbing and Energy Solutions were accepted as the contractor for the supply and installation of a new heat-pump hot water heating system to work with our existing underfloor heating system control panels and in-floor pipework.

The work was carried out and completed on schedule and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome, the final result in energy cost savings switching form a gas boiler to the new  Heat-Pump system has more than halved our winter combined Electricity and Gas usage costs.

Our architect had recommended electrical underfloor heating and whilst the initial capital cost was much less, Kevin convinced us to pay a higher initial cost and pay substantially less as running costs through the year. It took a little while to settle down, but to be fair that was due to incompetence from our electrician and when we got an electrician as competent as our plumber all was fixed and we are good now.

I did a big build out in Dalefield. I paid top dollar to get the best of everything. However, I used different suppliers and I ended up with a system that wasn’t integrated, was difficult to use, and just didn’t achieve what was promised.

I got Kevin and Optum involved and they took action to integrate everything and actually make it work.

If I’d had them involved from the start I’d have saved tens of thousands of dollars and I’d have gotten what I wanted.
